ABOVE AND BEYOND

US VRC Seal.png

The VRC honors the heritage of service beyond contract; drawing its history from the original Veteran Reserve Corps of the Civil War, where both wounded Union soldiers and those who finished the terms of their contract continued to serve the cause in light duty capacities.

We are always seeking to recognize those within our ranks who embody the spirit of service and the VRC offers a series of awards, medals, and ribbons for those who go above and beyond.

Presidential Volunteer Service Award

The Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) was created by President George W. Bush in 2003, as a way to encourage volunteerism and reward individuals who have made positive contributions to our nation through volunteer service.  The US VRC is a certifying organization for the PVSA and recipients of the award receive the ribbon to wear on their service uniforms.
