JUDGE ADVOCATE GENERAL

The Judge Advocate Generals Office for the United States Veteran Reserve Corps is the chief legal office of the organization. JAG Officers are tasked with contract negotiations and review, including Memorandums of Understanding.  They advise the Commanding General, Deputy Commander, and Chief of Staff on matters of law and also represent the Veteran Reserve Corps in litigation.

Colonel Shore served as part of the Washington, D.C. Reserves.  He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he earned an American Jurisprudence Award for Excellent Achievement in the Study of Trial Advocacy, and the American Jurisprudence Award for Excellent Achievement in the Study of Evidence.  His undergraduate degree was in Psychology from the University of Maryland. 

 

Colonel Shore is licensed in the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces and the Supreme Court of the United States.

MEDCOM COMMISSIONS JAG OFFICERS

MEDCOM (Medical Command) recently commissioned three experienced attorneys to oversee the complexities of operating a medical unit in a world fraught with legal pitfalls.

JAG officers advise the MEDCOM command staff on issues such as liability and malpractice insurance requirements, HIPAA regulations and other matters faced by providing medical and mental health care to veterans and persons who could not otherwise afford it.
