INSPECTOR GENERAL
The Veteran Reserve Corps Inspector General's Office is the eyes, ears, voice and conscience of the organization. It is the function of the IG to prevent fraud, waste and abuse, promote quality and safety, and audit operations to ensure they are in compliance with established policies, regulations, and statutes.
MISSION
Provide impartial, objective, and unbiased advice and oversight to the U.S.-VRC through relevant, timely, and thorough inspections, assistance, investigations, and training to promote and enable stewardship, accountability, integrity, efficiency, good order & disciplines and enhance total organizational readiness.
INSPECTOR GENERAL NEWS
COL Raymond Copp, Deputy Division Commander has, among other duties, oversight of professional standards (internal affairs) investigations. Every organization concerned about its reputation requires the investigatory capacity to police its own members, address issues and complaints of member misconduct, and recommend appropriate administrative or disciplinary action when necessary. In light of that, COL Copp has announced announced the appointed of LTC Brian Smith, MEDCOM Security Director, to assume the role of Professional Standards Investigator in the IG Office. LTC Smith brings with him a long history of federal and state law enforcement experience.
